Your questions, answered.

Getting started

Do you have used cars for sale in PNG right now?

Not yet. We are preparing a Japan-to-PNG vehicle importing service, starting in Port Moresby. There is no live vehicle inventory on this website and we are not accepting vehicle orders. You can contact us now to discuss the type of second-hand car you want and hear about our launch.

Are you open for vehicle orders yet?

Not yet. Nippon Direct Motors is preparing to launch in Port Moresby. You can talk to us about your plans now or register your interest in launch updates. We will confirm when vehicle sourcing and orders are available.

Can I speak to someone in Papua New Guinea?

Yes. We are based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Send us a WhatsApp message, call or email using the contact details on this website. Our approach is built around local conversations and clear explanations.

What types of vehicles will you help source?

Our focus is quality used vehicles sourced in Japan. Tell us whether you need a family car, SUV, work vehicle or something else. We will discuss suitability, your budget and what is available once sourcing begins. Vehicles shown on this website are illustrations, not stock listings.

Pricing & payment

What does a landed price include?

Our planned quotes will itemise the vehicle and purchase costs, export-related costs, shipping, applicable customs charges, clearance, registration and our service fee, as agreed for your order. Any exclusions, insurance arrangements or costs still awaiting confirmation will be identified in writing. The quote, rather than a headline vehicle price, is the document to use for your decision.

How much does it cost to import a used car from Japan to PNG?

There is no single price that applies to every vehicle. The vehicle purchase price, export arrangements, shipping, applicable PNG charges and agreed local services all contribute to the total. Compare itemised landed quotes in kina for the specific vehicle, rather than comparing a Japanese listing price with the price of a car already in PNG. We will confirm costs and quote conditions for each order after launch.

Will I get a price in kina?

Yes. Clear pricing in Papua New Guinean kina is central to our approach. Your written quote will state its inclusions, exclusions, validity and any exchange-rate conditions. We will discuss any changes that need your agreement before proceeding.

Do you offer finance or have a deposit amount?

Finance arrangements and payment terms have not been announced. We will explain the available payment process and any required deposit before an order is agreed. Please contact us directly rather than relying on payment instructions from an unverified source.

Vehicles & condition

What is a Japanese auction sheet?

An auction sheet is an inspection record used for a vehicle offered at auction. It can include identifying details, a condition grade, inspector notes and a diagram of marked damage. Formats and grading practices vary. We explain the available record in plain language and highlight anything that needs clarification.

Does an auction grade guarantee a perfect vehicle?

No. A grade is one part of the picture, not a guarantee or a replacement for reading the notes. We consider the vehicle details, available photos, condition notes and any additional information we can obtain. Used vehicles can have wear, and we want you to understand the known condition before deciding.

Can I send you a link to a vehicle I like?

You can discuss your preferences with us by WhatsApp now. A dedicated “send a vehicle link for a quote” feature is planned for later. We are not accepting vehicle orders or promising quotes through an automated tool before launch.

Shipping & arrival

How long will shipping and the whole process take?

We have not published fixed lead times. Timing depends on the vehicle, export arrangements, sailing availability, customs and registration. For each order we will explain the current estimates and keep you informed when the schedule changes.

What are the rules for importing into PNG?

Import rules can change and are confirmed with PNG Customs for each order. Vehicle eligibility, documents and applicable charges must be checked for the specific vehicle before purchase. This website does not publish a fixed duty rate or replace that confirmation.

Will I be able to track my vehicle online?

An online tracking system is on our roadmap. It is not available yet. Our planned service includes direct updates while we coordinate the journey. We will announce online tracking when it is ready.

Can you arrange delivery outside Port Moresby?

Our starting point is Port Moresby. If you are elsewhere in PNG, tell us your location so we can discuss what may be possible and identify any separate arrangements or costs. Nationwide delivery is not currently promised.
